backup your cellphone phonebook onto paper if you must.
A friend of mine has a mobile phone. She kept putting telephone numbers into the phones internal memory. Unfortunately the phone never worked reliably. Especially the backup function was broken.
The inevitable thing happened: When the firmware update came she could not backup the phonebook and the update completely wiped the phones memory, though the salesperson said it wouldn't.
Lessons learned:
1. phone numbers can be VERY IMPORTANT data to backup (the girl/guy from last night!!!)
2. resort to pen and paper if you don't have another option (you'll never see him/her again!!!)
3. even backup your cellphones content (These things have a tendency to disappear anyway)
